This was my first built-in cabinet project, and it transformed this small foyer space into a usable mudroom.
Built around a window as an integrated bench, this project includes a small coat closet, shoe cubbies, boot storage, and a robot vacuum garage hidden in the tall baseboard.
To complete its stately look, the cabinet was appointed with knurled brass knobs, painted in white enamel, and married into the adjacent doorway.
Large crown molding was added to the room and cabinet to provide an unmistakable finishing touch.
Fresh baseboard trim was also added around the room.
This install had several unique challenges. The floor had a significant slope, and space was limited due to the window. In order to fit a usable coat closet, slimmer wood was used in some areas to maximize space. It was really that close of a fit!
